The New Beauty School

Picture
Traditionally, beauty schools catered to female students who wanted to learn how to perform the arts of beautification on other women as a service; for example many wanted to work in, or work towards owning their own salon. Beauty schools included everything you would expect - makeup courses, hair and hairdressing courses, nail technician courses for pedicures and manicures, perhaps some hair removal instruction and skin toner education as well.

These days, beauty schools are much, much more advanced. If you enroll in a top beauty school, be prepared to work with others across a variety of industries including photography/film, live performance arts, makeup for film, special effects makeup, fashion design and writing, and of course modeling. No longer are beauty schools simply catering to females learning to perform services on other females. These days you'll likely see a 2:1ratio of females and males and the ratio of males continues to grow each semester.

With new reality shows popping up every new TV season, most of the services covered in the new beauty school is also a television reality show. Americas Next Top Model, Project Runway, Shear Genius, Blush and more continue to shed light on these professions and drive more and more people to find the best beauty schools. Of the best North America has to offer, the ones that offer the greatest value are ones that allow you to work with others in different, yet related courses. At John Casablancas Institute, students from one course will work with students from another course, essentially gaining valuable work experience in a group setting and learning residual information about these related professions. The end result is a much higher understanding of the way industry works and how your expertise plays a role in the entire process. Invaluable information - just ask anyone who learned makeup in a secluded setting, and then had to join a commercial shoot!
